Alfa v0.1 Update + future plans
First post-game jam update
First of all a name change.
The original name of the game was the first idea I had and was chosen for jam purposes only, the new name "Hop out the Forest" reflects better my intentions for the game.
The main change of this alfa is the new tutorial. Originally for the jam, the game didn't had a tutorial, instead only had some vague instructions that hardly explained the games as they should. Now a full tutorial is included and required to be completed before playing the other puzzles.
About the future of the game. I have some plans for it, but first, I want to know if the project has any future or will only be a game jam prototype and nothing more. I have the intention to build up to 40 levels, divided into 10 worlds of 10 levels each, every one bigger than the last. The first world consists of 5x5 grids, the second 7x7, the third 10x10, and the last 13x13. However, first I'm going to build only a couple of them in each world and see if I still like the results.
Also, a story is in the making, where the goal of the frog will be to escape their contaminated home and search for a new one. I'm still planning how this story would be told during the game and right now is just a nice idea and nothing more.
I'm planning to launch a second alfa version in a couple of weeks with some new levels and some improvements in the UI and feel of the game and custom 3D models for the tiles, instead of Kenney's tiles, but it'll depend on the time I'll have.
